Ash Parish Council

The Christmas Fantasia held last December, was opened by Cllr Nigel Manning, Chairman of Ash Parish Council.

There were many stalls at the fair selling a variety of Christmas items. Members and Staff of the Parish Council ran a tombola and cake stall together with various children's games. They raised £500 and this has been donated to St Peter's Church Spire Appeal and CHASE Children's Hospice.

Later in the afternoon, over 400 people gathered at the Wharf to sing carols around the Christmas tree, led by the Salvation Army Band and St Peter’s Church Choir.

The highlight of the afternoon was the arrival of Father Christmas, and also Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Father Christmas switched on the Christmas tree lights and distributed sweets to the children gathered around.

The festivities ended with mulled wine and mince pies back at the Parish Centre.

It was a very successful afternoon enjoyed by all. The Parish Council Members and Staff would like to thank all the local businesses for their kind donations of prizes for the tombola, and also “Party Pants” for generously supplying the fancy dress costumes, free of charge.
