The Ash Parish Fun Day 2014 this year was held on Saturday 12th July.
This annual event was once again organised by the staff of Ash Parish
Council and held at the Ash Centre and the adjacent Recreation Ground
in Ash Hill Road, Ash.
The weather this year was sunny throughout.
The event was
officially opened by a the Mayor of Guildford Councillor David Elms and Chairman of Ash Parish Council, Councillor Nigel Manning.
The days events got under way with the
judging of the various flower, vegetable, flower arranging, baking and craft,
including a photographic class, competitions. For a list of class winners

The show class winners, together with the second
and third placed entries will receive their winning certificates
during the Ash in Bloom 2014 awards evening to be held in September.
The central arena events started with a loud beat with a fantastic drum display given by The Oku Nojo Daiko - Japanese Drummers.
The arena also saw the welcome return of the Henfold Birds of Prey after a break of 2 years.
This year also saw the inaugural Ash Games, with both egg and spoon and sack races for the under 7's and for the over 7's.

Unit, once again performed a sterling job joining the whole
afternoon together by providing a running commentary and music and
Ash Parish Council would like to thank them accordingly.
There were many different different stalls, stands
and displays representing various charities and local groups and
organisations from in and around the village. These stalls included
the Ash U3A, and Ash Floral Club and Ash Grange Childrens Centre to
name but a few.
included a burger bar and of course the beer and wine tent supplied by Ash Parish Council and operated on our behalf by members of the Ash and Blackwater Valley Rotasry Club .
Councillor Nigel Manning officially closed the
event by thanking all participants for taking part.
Finally with the 2014 Fun Day now over the council
staff can take a small break before beginning preperations for Christmas
Fantasia 2014 and Ash Fun Day 2015. Please remember to keep returning
